Care that adjusts as you do.

Everyone responds differently to medical weight loss treatment. Your clinician pays attention to how your body responds and adjusts your plan over time. That might mean changing your dose, adjusting timing, or adding other support like supplements or peptides.

Nothing is one-size-fits-all.

Tracking progress beyond the scale.

Weight doesn’t tell the full story.

Two people can lose the same number of pounds and see very different changes in their body. What’s most important is understanding what your body is losing and what it’s keeping.

Body composition scans at our Bend and Seattle clinic give a clearer picture of your progress by looking at:

  • Body fat percentage
  • Skeletal muscle mass
  • Visceral fat (the fat stored around your organs)

Visceral fat is closely linked to long-term health risks like heart disease and diabetes. It’s not something you can track on a scale, but it’s one of the most important markers of metabolic health.

Microdosing GLP-1 Medications

What Is Microdosing GLP-1s?

Microdosing means using a lower-than-standard dose of medication . Rather than aiming for aggressive weight loss, the goal is to harness the metabolic and anti-inflammatory benefits of these medications while potentially reducing side effects.

This approach may be a good fit if you:

  • Are sensitive to side effects
  • Want to maintain prior weight loss
  • Combine GLP-1s with hormone therapy or lifestyle changes
  • Have inflammatory or hormonal conditions like PCOS or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis

GLP-1 microdose pricing ranges from $224-$299 per month*

GLP-1 Podcast with Flow Wellness Medical Director

Key takeaways from the GLP-1 podcast

  • Dr. Kevin Jones explains that GLP-1s help reduce appetite, slow digestion, and quiet “food noise.”
  • Medical supervision is important because dosing, side effects, muscle loss, and long-term maintenance need to be monitored.
  • Common side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and appetite changes.
  • Flow Wellness tracks body composition to help patients lose fat while protecting muscle.
  • Healthy lifestyle habits are essential, especially protein intake, strength training, hydration, sleep, and nutrition.
  • Many patients use GLP-1s to feel more confident, move better, reduce cravings, and improve long-term metabolic health.
  • Weight maintenance is individualized: some patients stop, some cycle back on, and others stay on a lower maintenance dose.

You can be seen in person at the Flow Wellness clinics in Bend, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, or by video anywhere in Oregon, Washington, or California. A Flow Wellness clinician manages your care from the first consultation through monthly follow-ups.

Flow Wellness compounded GLP-1 programs cost $224 to $499 per month with medication, supplies, shipping, and body composition scans included, and microdose programs run $224 to $299 per month. Brand-name Wegovy, Zepbound, and oral GLP-1 programs cost $124 to $149 per month to Flow Wellness, with the medication paid directly to the manufacturer. The 90-day Start Strong program, which adds monthly health coaching, is $1,249. Compounded GLP-1 medications are not FDA approved.

Brand-name GLP-1s such as Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA approved for weight management and were tested in large clinical trials. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared by licensed pharmacies; they are not FDA approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. Flow Wellness offers both, and your clinician explains the cost, dosing flexibility, and evidence behind each so you can choose.

GLP-1 medications mimic a gut hormone that lowers appetite, increases fullness, and slows how fast the stomach empties, which reduces cravings and constant thoughts about food. The two most prescribed are semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic) and tirzepatide (Zepbound and Mounjaro). Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA approved for chronic weight management; Ozempic and Mounjaro use the same molecules but are approved for type 2 diabetes. Flow Wellness clinicians help you choose among them.

Yes. Flow Wellness prescribes daily oral GLP-1 options, including the Wegovy pill and Foundayo, for patients who prefer not to inject. Medication from the manufacturer costs about $149 per month at starting doses and $299 per month at treatment doses, plus the Flow Wellness program fee of $124 to $149 per month.

GLP-1 microdosing means taking a lower dose than the standard weight loss schedule, with the goal of steadier appetite control and fewer side effects rather than rapid weight loss. At Flow Wellness it is most often used by patients who are sensitive to side effects, want to maintain weight they have already lost, or are pairing a GLP-1 with hormone therapy. Some patients with PCOS or Hashimoto’s ask about it, but benefits for those conditions have not been established. Microdosing and alternative dosing of GLP-1s have not been studied in clinical trials and are not FDA approved. Compounded GLP-1 medications are not FDA approved.

FDA-approved GLP-1 weight loss medications are labeled for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, prediabetes, or sleep apnea. At your free consultation, a Flow Wellness clinician reviews your health history, medications, and goals and tells you whether a GLP-1 is appropriate for you, and if so which option and dose.

In the STEP 1 trial, adults on semaglutide 2.4 mg lost an average of about 15% of body weight over 68 weeks. In SURMOUNT-1, adults on the highest dose of tirzepatide lost about 21% over 72 weeks. Results vary by person, dose, and habits, and these trials did not study compounded medication or microdosing. Flow Wellness tracks your progress with body composition scans so you can see fat lost, not just pounds.

Most Flow Wellness patients notice less appetite and fewer cravings within the first one to two weeks. Measurable changes in weight and body composition usually show up within 8 to 16 weeks as the dose is gradually increased. Your Flow Wellness clinician reviews progress at each monthly follow-up and adjusts the plan if results stall.

GLP-1 medications have been used for type 2 diabetes for over 20 years and are generally well tolerated when monitored by a clinician. They are not recommended if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, or if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, and they need extra caution with a history of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease. Flow Wellness screens for these at your consultation and monitors you at monthly check-ins. Compounded GLP-1 medications are not FDA approved.

The most common side effects are nausea, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, and fatigue, usually mild and worst in the first weeks or after a dose increase. Flow Wellness starts at a low dose and raises it gradually, includes an anti-nausea prescription in its programs, and gives you unlimited messaging with your clinician. Flow Wellness also offers prescription supplements to help manage side effects.

Not always. Flow Wellness decides on lab work case by case, based on your health history and how recent your last labs are. When labs are needed, they typically check blood sugar, kidney function, and thyroid, and you can use a discounted cash-pay price or bill your insurance.

Some of the weight lost on any GLP-1 can come from muscle, especially without enough protein and strength training. Flow Wellness uses body composition scans to measure fat, skeletal muscle, and visceral fat, then adjusts your dose, protein target, and exercise plan to limit muscle loss. Eating well and strength training also make it easier to keep weight off if you later lower or stop the medication.

Not necessarily. Some Flow Wellness patients use a GLP-1 for several months to a year, build habits, and then taper off; others cycle back on when needed or stay on a lower maintenance dose. Weight regain is common after stopping, so your Flow Wellness clinician plans the taper with you and keeps tracking your body composition.

Yes. Flow Wellness patients can pair a GLP-1 with hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy, prescription supplements, or lab-guided care under the same care team. For patients over 40 whose weight loss has stalled, the six-month Stronger and Healthier After 40 program at Flow Wellness combines advanced labs, hormone evaluation, and body composition scans.

Flow Wellness is a self-pay clinic and does not bill insurance, because coverage for weight loss care varies widely and many plans exclude it. You can use HSA or FSA funds, and Flow Wellness provides itemized receipts if you want to submit for reimbursement. If your insurance already covers a GLP-1, you can still join the Flow Wellness monthly program for follow-ups, monitoring, and body composition scans.
